What do clinical neuropsychologists do?
Clinical neuropsychologists specialize in helping people understand the connection between their brain health and their daily functioning. Typically, they use well-validated tests of cognitive and emotional functioning to assess changes in thinking abilities and mood.

How is Atrium Neuropsychology different from other practices?
Atrium focuses primarily on troubleshooting aspects of individuals’ lives that may be impacting daily functioning, prior to any formal assessment. As such, Atrium is more concerned with neuropsychological wellness and ongoing coaching rather than formal paper-and-pencil testing. Of course, if a comprehensive evaluation seems beneficial, I will either refer you to a provider that is convenient for you or do the testing myself.
What can I expect from a consultation?
A consultation includes a 1-2 hour interview, a brief cognitive screening, and objective psychological testing. You will receive a full report and a 45-minute feedback session on your results as well.
What will my consultation tell me?
During your initial consultation, I will gather a great deal of information about your daily performance and the struggles you may be having. I will analyze this information and generate a plan for improvement in your cognitive, work, and/or school performance. You will receive a full report and feedback session that will help guide coaching in future sessions.
What is coaching and how do I know if I need it?
Coaching consists of weekly follow-up sessions to guide you through any “fixes” for your cognitive performance that we’ve come up with together during the consultation. We can determine together whether coaching seems appropriate in your case.
How much does this all cost?
Fees are set on a sliding scale and depend on the level of service you would like. Following our initial free 15-minute meeting, we will determine a fee that works for you.
Do you take insurance?
While I am not in-network with any insurance carriers, I can provide you with a bill that you may submit to your carrier, but please be aware that the services may not be covered. Operating outside of insurance allows for a “concierge”-type approach that promotes more personalized and efficient services.
What if I don’t live in Maryland or Washington, DC?
Please feel free to request a free 15-minute meeting with me anyway – I would be happy to refer you to a clinical neuropsychologist or another provider that may assist you with your needs, in your area.
